Thinking back, he seems much easier these days than he did a few months ago. The independence piece is huge. It's so nice to have the spoonfuls of oatmeal go into his mouth on his own. We have been spending a lot of time at the pool with swim lessons the past few weeks, and he LOVES the slide. It's a short thing that he prefers to whip himself down on his tummy & feet first before splashing face first into the water.
His speech is so great and helpful for all of us. And he has some fairly fantastic manners (most of the time).
He got over the short-ish night time scream fest he was having when we were putting him to bed. He is now going down around 7:30 or 8. We brush (my least favorite thing of the entire day), read books, sing songs (he is mostly interested in the song about Aldus which gives him a run down of what he did that day), and do a quick back rub ('oh it tickles'). He wakes around 7 and is still taking a 1 1/2 hour nap around 12:30.
Always a picky eater, Aldus has branched out a bit. He is not the spectacular eater that I had in mind when I thought of MY child, but he is at least eating. Faves include: peanut butter sandwich, oatmeal, spaghetti, bananas, strawberries (some days), apples (some days), yogurt.
This video is long - most of it from his birthday party (you can FF to the 'good' stuff). But don't miss the first couple clips from Sue B's 80th birthday celebration and Aldus on the harmonica.
