October 2012

Will and I (but more importantly the Bates) survived 9 nights without Butters. The happy couple had a fantastic trip to Washington State and BC. We changed only our own pants; we hiked in the pouring rain; we didn't rest for naps (well, maybe once or twice); we watched a few MLB and NFL games on bar stools with pints in our hands. Sweet.

Aldus started the month with saying a few two word sequences and as of today is stringing together small sentences - "where's halloween house", "dada, where is he", "dada at work", "more milk please momma". His new favorite (and our least) is "up feez" (up please) - con.stant.ly. It's hard to get much of anything done with a 25 pounder in your arms or sliding into your next planned step.

He is eating MUCH better. He definitely has his likes/dislikes but has been eating a LOT of what he does like. It is such a relief. Whenever I am frustrated with what he isn't eating, I have to remind myself when he really wouldn't eat anything.

Aldus has now has a habit of SOBBING when he wakes up. He is no longer cooing sweetly to himself for a few minutes. Although he has started saying "found Momma" when I come get him from his crib.

Whenever Will is around, he almost always would prefer his Dad.

He has had a slightly rough past few weeks with contracting hand, foot and mouth virus and then bronchiolitis. He just finished a round of steroids and is using a nebulizer. He seems to be recovering well from both.

We are looking forward to chillin in the D for the next few weeks.

Here are some clips from October:
